Software Engineer – Application Developer

About the role

Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is seeking a Software Engineer – Application Developer to design, build, and maintain custom software solutions that support our enterprise systems and drive operational efficiency across the construction materials business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications, enhancements, and integrations that meet business needs.
• Maintain and support existing applications, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain APIs and data‑exchange processes between enterprise systems.
• Ensure code follows coding standards, security best practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Document system architecture, development standards, and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities for system optimization, participate in upgrades, and automate business workflows.
• Monitor application performance and assist with tuning for reliability and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise‑level software applications.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret business requirements and create technical solutions.
• Ability to work closely with IT leadership, business owners, and cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, secure, and maintainable code.
