Software Engineer – AI Agent for Retail

About the role

Sierra is building production‑grade AI agents that power retail experiences for some of the world’s biggest consumer brands. As a Software Engineer on the Retail team, you will design, ship, and iterate on these mission‑critical agents that directly drive revenue and customer loyalty.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver production‑grade AI agents that are reliable, performant, and revenue‑generating.
• Own the full Agent Development Life Cycle from pilot to continuous iteration, establishing best practices.
• Partner with large enterprises and cutting‑edge startups to understand business challenges and embed AI agents at scale.
• Shape Sierra’s core platform by surfacing unmet needs, prototyping new tools, and collaborating with research and product teams.

Required profile

• Experience building and scaling end‑to‑end production systems.
• Strong technical problem‑solving skills in fast‑changing, ambiguous environments.
• Builder mindset with high agency and creativity to overcome obstacles.
• Comfort working directly with customers to translate real‑world problems into solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Passion for the retail space and helping top brands build loyalty.
