Software Developer – Platform & AI Integration

About the role

The Software Developer will own day‑to‑day technical execution of a statewide education platform. You will maintain, improve, and expand the platform while integrating AI‑enabled capabilities to support job postings, internships, and work‑based learning.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the existing codebase through bug fixes, refactoring, and performance tuning.
• Lead technical execution of the product roadmap, including scoping, estimating, and delivery.
• Build and improve features for job postings, employer subscriptions, and account management.
• Implement data integrations, APIs, and import/export capabilities with partner systems.
• Develop AI‑powered functions such as skills extraction, job‑to‑skill matching, recommendation logic, and analytics.
• Apply strong engineering practices: version control, code reviews, testing, documentation, and release management.
• Ensure security, privacy, and data‑governance best practices for student and school data.
• Monitor application health, uptime, and performance, responding to incidents as needed.
• Collaborate with training and onboarding teams to improve usability and implementation success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
• Three or more years of software development experience working in production codebases.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment and communicate technical decisions to non‑technical stakeholders.
