Software Configuration Manager

About the role

CACI is seeking an experienced Software Configuration Manager to join its growing Electronic Warfare team in Sterling, VA, supporting Counter Unmanned Systems (UxS). The role leads configuration management for software applications and embedded firmware, coordinates with the Hardware Design and Manufacturing Operational Group, and combines configuration management oversight with hands-on DevOps engineering. It is full time, regular, with no travel required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain configuration management plans, policies, procedures and work instructions, and define configuration items, naming conventions, versioning standards and baselines.
• Maintain configuration identification, version control, status accounting and audit processes, and traceability between requirements, source code, builds, test results and delivered artifacts.
• Manage software change requests and participate in Change Control Board and Engineering Review Board activities.
• Implement technical controls such as branch protection, merge approvals and designated code ownership, and conduct configuration audits.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align configuration management practices with contractual requirements.
• Administer GitLab, configure CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI and Jenkins, and set up reproducible builds via containerized environments and pinned dependencies.
• Manage software artifacts, container registries, Kubernetes-deployed microservices, SBOM generation and tracking, and configure Jira workflows for change control and release management.
• Set release readiness criteria, compile release evidence, manage deployment approvals and environment promotion, and maintain rollback procedures.

Required profile

• US citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5+ years of directly related experience.
• Working knowledge of software configuration management principles and hands-on Git version control.
• Experience administering or configuring Jira and Confluence.
• Desired: 5+ years in configuration management, active TS/SCI clearance, GitLab Ultimate experience, Python scripting, embedded firmware configuration, and experience with DoD or federal programs.
