About the role

The Georgia Public Defender Council is seeking a Social Worker 1 (Non-Licensed) to provide psychosocial support to clients, families, and vulnerable populations. Working under supervision, you will deliver education, counseling, and referrals to ensure clients receive appropriate social services.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct client assessments and needs evaluations.
  • Provide counseling, patient education, and advocacy in court settings.
  • Develop and recommend service or placement plans.
  • Coordinate referrals to community resources and maintain case files.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with service providers.
  • Research client status and living situations to inform decisions.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience conducting needs assessments and coordinating referrals.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ethical conduct and commitment to the role.
