Social Media & Marketing Coordinator

About the role

The Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will support Savannah Technical College’s daily marketing, communications and brand‑management activities. Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, you will create timely, engaging and accurate content that showcases the college’s programs, students, staff, events and community impact.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the college’s official social media accounts: plan, draft, schedule and publish posts.
• Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with enrollment, recruitment, student engagement and community outreach.
• Create platform‑appropriate captions, graphics, photos, short‑form videos, reels, stories and live‑event coverage.
• Monitor messages, comments and trends; respond, route inquiries and flag sensitive issues.
• Identify and capture compelling stories involving students, employees, programs and partnerships.
• Apply accessibility best practices, including alt‑text and video captions.
• Track social‑media performance and prepare regular reports on reach, engagement and audience growth.
• Serve as the primary photographer and videographer for classrooms, labs, events, ceremonies and campus life.
