About the role
The nonprofit organization leading the fight against childhood hunger in the United States is looking for a freelance Social Media Manager. You will work closely with the agency team to shape and execute the brand’s social strategy during a pivotal period, balancing advocacy, fundraising and awareness initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Co‑develop and implement a social media strategy that raises brand awareness, drives engagement and supports the mission.
- Own the scheduling and direct publishing of all approved content across every social channel, ensuring optimal timing and format.
- Create high‑quality, original content tailored to each platform, aligned with advocacy campaigns, fundraising pushes and key awareness dates.
- Build and maintain a dynamic content calendar that synchronises with campaign timelines and organizational priorities.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing social media for nonprofit or cause‑driven organisations.
- Strategic mindset – comfortable shaping briefs as well as executing them.
- Strong collaborator accustomed to agency‑client dynamics.
- Reliable availability during U.S. business hours.

What we offer
- Remote work (NY onsite a plus but not required).
- 15–20 hours per week, starting next week through mid‑July with potential extension.
- Hourly rate of $65–$70, payable on a freelance basis.
