Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

C1.ai is building a horizontal identity platform that powers modern companies' access control. We are a small, fast‑moving team where you will have real ownership from day one. Join us to help build the foundation for a next‑generation identity platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reliability and scalability of our platform—design, build, and operate infrastructure for both core cloud and FedRAMP environments.
• Build observability that drives action—create monitoring, alerting, and tooling to help teams understand system behavior and respond quickly.
• Drive operational excellence—partner with product teams to embed reliability into new features.
• Automate relentlessly—implement infrastructure‑as‑code solutions to eliminate toil.
• Lead incident response, conduct blameless postmortems, and drive systemic improvements.
• Plan and execute incremental infrastructure projects, assess technical risks, and communicate trade‑offs.

Required profile

• Proven track record building and operating production systems at scale.
• Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to anticipate failure cascades.
• High agency—identifying what needs to be built and moving fast.
• Deep understanding of observability—instrumentation, dashboards, and meaningful alerts.
• Experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
• Clear, persuasive communication and a collaborative mindset.
