Site Reliability Engineer II

About the role

The Payment Network Business Operations team is looking for a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer II to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Mastercard’s critical applications. You will act as the production‑readiness steward, collaborating closely with developers to build resilient, fault‑tolerant services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain platform stability and health across global operations.
• Support developers with operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring.
• Lead triage, root‑cause analysis, and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Engage early in the software development lifecycle to proactively manage production changes.
• Define and enforce operational standards while fostering a culture of developer ownership.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices in site reliability engineering.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role.
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for automation.
• Ability to mentor and guide cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills to translate business impact into technical actions.
