Simulation & Clinical Learning Center Lab Coordinator

About the role

The Simulation & Clinical Learning Center (SCLC) at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a Lab Coordinator to manage daily technical, logistical, and operational functions of its simulation environments. This position supports nursing and health sciences education by ensuring realistic, well‑maintained labs for experiential learning.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and break down simulation environments and skills labs, preparing task trainers, props, supplies, and equipment for scheduled activities.
• Maintain simulation spaces in a clean, organized, and clinically realistic condition at all times.
• Report equipment concerns, damage, or operational issues promptly to the Lab Manager or simulation technician.
• Facilitate Open Lab sessions, ensuring equipment availability and operational integrity for student use outside scheduled coursework.
• Coordinate room turnovers, resolve scheduling conflicts, and reset simulation spaces between sessions.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and maintenance of simulation supplies, consumables, equipment, and task trainers.
• Conduct regular inventory counts, maintain accurate records, and report findings to the Lab Manager.

Required profile

• Ability to perform setup, breakdown, and cleaning of simulation environments.
• Strong attention to detail for maintaining clinical realism and equipment readiness.
• Effective communication with the Lab Manager and SCLC staff to resolve scheduling and operational issues.
• Organizational skills for managing inventory and supply levels.
