Shop Technician – Furniture Repair

About the role

Join the 1915 South team as a Shop Technician supporting the Covington distribution center. You will be responsible for restoring and maintaining furniture received from Ashley or returned from customer deliveries, ensuring each piece meets safety and quality standards before it returns to the market.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on furniture.
• Assemble new components and install parts according to specifications.
• Conduct detailed inspections to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns and test repaired items.
• Track parts inventory, order replacements, and maintain accurate usage records.
• Communicate repair status and recommendations to supervisors promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while keeping the shop clean and organized.
• Collaborate with internal teams and other technicians on complex repairs.
• Suggest process improvements to boost shop efficiency.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, or structural repair of furniture or similar products.
• Ability to read and follow technical specifications and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communication skills for reporting findings.
