Shop Foreman

About the role

R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Shop Foreman (Diesel Mechanic) at its West Sacramento service center. The role focuses on day‑to‑day equipment maintenance, performing preventative work and both minor and major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, Class 8 trucks, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Maintain ancillary systems such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Diagnose and repair air‑conditioning and electrical systems on fleet vehicles.
• Utilize Cetaris work‑order software to track and document service activities.

Required profile

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs and lift up to 50 lb.
• Must possess own tools.
• Preferred: 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, familiarity with Cummins & Detroit engines, Class A CDL, and experience with trailer PMs.
