Shipyard Manufacturing Engineering Manager

About the role

As the Shipyard Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Saronic Technologies in Franklin, you will lead the technical execution and operational integration of manufacturing engineering activities across the shipyard. You will ensure vessel construction is technically sound, production‑ready, and aligned with quality, schedule and safety objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, train and develop a team of manufacturing engineering personnel, handling hiring, performance reviews and career growth.
• Oversee engineering deliverables that support efficient vessel construction, including work packages, installation planning and technical issue resolution.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives for production flow, scheduling, build sequencing and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with production engineering leadership to align structural assembly, systems integration and product design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, shipyard procedures, regulatory requirements and maritime specifications.
• Work with the EHS team to enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
• Monitor and report KPIs such as production efficiency, engineering throughput, schedule performance and labor utilization.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing manufacturing engineering teams in a shipbuilding or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong understanding of vessel construction processes, tooling, workflow layout and resource planning.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous‑improvement projects and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, safety regulations and maritime industry standards.
• Excellent analytical skills for KPI tracking and reporting.
