Shift Engineer (First Grade Stationary Engineer)

About the role
This position is a plant operator role responsible for the steam plant at Maryland Environmental Service’s facility in Somerset County. The engineer will manage plant operations and perform maintenance during their shift.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the steam plant during a rotating 12‑hour shift.
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on plant equipment as needed.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED plus at least three years of steam plant operating experience.
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than five points and a First Grade Maryland Stationary Engineer’s License.
