Service Technician – Riverwood, New Canaan

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to maintain the physical aspects of its Riverwood at New Canaan community. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete preventative maintenance work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety and risk‑management meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical or building issues and perform repairs safely.
• Experience with preparing vacant apartments for new occupants.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, pressure‑washing and painting.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and attending regular safety meetings.
