Service Technician

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that all physical aspects of Greystar properties—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This role involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance by diagnosing issues and making repairs in line with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials and tools efficiently.

Required profile

• Adheres to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attending routine safety meetings and completing required training.
