Service Technician – Flats on D

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to maintain the physical condition of its Flats on D property in Boston. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete preventative maintenance work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with company policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, completing repairs and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose building defects and perform mechanical or technical repairs.
• Familiarity with safety and risk‑management procedures and willingness to attend routine safety meetings.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation and inventory tracking.
• Capability to coordinate with vendors and contractors for make‑ready tasks.
