Service Technician – Blue Ridge

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This full‑time onsite position supports residents and prepares vacant units for new move‑ins.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs and final inspections.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly for tracking and reporting.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Compliance with Greystar safety and risk‑management policies, including attendance at safety meetings and completion of OSHA training.
• Ability to inspect contractor work for quality and adherence to specifications.
• Willingness to conduct routine property inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns.

Required skills

• EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Valid driver’s license (required for operating a golf cart where applicable).
