Service Project Manager - Mining and Materials

About the role

ABB's Mining and Materials team delivers solutions and services that help customers get the most out of their investment, supporting them from installation and start-up through to life-cycle services. This Service Project Manager oversees the delivery of service projects and ABB Customer Care Agreements in the North American region, reporting to the North American Mining & Materials Service Manager. The work model is remote in the Western US.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor customer service orders to ensure best practices in cost control, resource efficiency and HSE.
• Analyze and address project risks and regularly share lessons learned.
• Work with other functions to coordinate contract negotiations and claims with customers.
• Prepare quotes and implement contract changes based on customer requests.
• Achieve service order deliverables and comply with contract requirements.
• Coordinate the project team, including engineering, testing, site work and subcontractors, and report on contract performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or similar engineering highly preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years managing industrial control systems and electrical apparatus projects.
• Experience in industrial and/or utilities markets is required.
• Demonstrated experience managing project scope, cost, financial analysis, schedules and vendors/subcontractors.
• Fluent English; French is an asset.
• PMP designation desired.

Required skills

• SAP or other ERP and MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
