Senior/Lead Marine Designer/Drafter

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Marine Designer/Drafter to lead the creation of autonomous surface vessels. The role combines traditional ship design with cutting‑edge autonomous technology, supporting both design and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D models and technical drawings for new vessel construction.
• Create and modify ship construction drawings and maintain strict drawing standards.
• Collaborate with naval architects, marine, structural and electrical engineers on design implementation.
• Mentor junior designers in CAD modeling and ship design best practices.
• Prepare documentation for marine regulatory compliance and classification society submittals.
• Work with production and build engineering teams to capture as‑built details.

Required profile

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology or related field.
• 6+ years of CAD drafting experience in the marine industry.
• Proven experience leading a team of marine designers.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulatory requirements, construction tolerances and vessel building processes.
• Experience submitting drawings to classification societies such as ABS, DNV and LR.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software (NX, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, Rhino).
• Advanced 2D/3D modeling and drafting.
