Senior Transportation Manager

About the role

DHL Supply Chain is looking for a Senior Transportation Manager to lead our dedicated delivery vertical serving the Automotive, Engineering and Manufacturing sector. You will own a dynamic domestic transportation network, manage P&L performance and ensure reliable delivery of customer products across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise solutions using Transportation Fleet Software and Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Leverage data‑housing, reporting and delivery‑tracking tools to provide end‑to‑end visibility.
• Manage network optimisation processes for a large, dynamic fleet of over 150 nationwide trucks.
• Oversee a dedicated fleet delivering more than 1,600 shipments per week.
• Build and maintain partner carrier relationships, driving performance and cost efficiencies.
• Collaborate with internal DHL partners (Control Tower, Equipment, Transportation IT) to maximise opportunities.
• Drive multi‑modal delivery network performance, including dedicated multi‑stop and carrier multi‑stop operations.
• Lead carrier procurement and RFP activities for a diverse transportation network.
• Ensure contract compliance, monitor service levels and report on balanced‑scorecard metrics.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in transportation management.
• Proven experience as the primary site leader for a domestic transportation network.
• Experience managing drivers and a dedicated delivery operation, preferably within a 3PL environment.
• Strong P&L management experience, including budgeting and cost control.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
