Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our partnership in Rye Brook, NY. The role is hybrid and offers a genuinely decent work environment with sensible hours—typically 9 am to 5 pm, occasional half‑day Saturdays from mid‑January, and only two late‑night evenings per month in February. This position focuses on continuity rather than firefighting, allowing you to build on an established client base.

Key responsibilities

• Take over an existing portfolio of long‑standing client relationships.
• Review and prepare a broad mix of tax returns across various industries.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with current tax regulations.
• Maintain high‑quality documentation and support junior staff as needed.
• Provide proactive tax planning advice to clients.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Desire for a stable workload without excessive overtime.
