Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead the preparation and analysis of client tax data. The role involves handling simple to moderately complex individual, corporate, partnership, S‑Corp, and trust tax returns while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual, trust, corporate, partnership, and S‑Corp income tax returns, including state filings.
• Prepare amended returns, extension estimates, and tax projections.
• Respond to federal and state tax notices with appropriate letters.
• Conduct tax research and stay current with tax law changes.
• Review client‑submitted tax information for completeness and request additional data when needed.
• Prioritize workload, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and manage overtime during peak filing periods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience in a tax department.
• 150 hours of college credit/qualifications toward the CPA exam.
• Commitment to ongoing professional reading to stay current with tax regulations.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with clients and handling confidential information.

What we offer

• Full‑time position based on 2,300 annual hours.
• Overtime opportunities, especially from mid‑January to April 15, with potential >50 hours/week.
