Senior Systems Integration Engineer – Defense Autonomy

About the role

As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer in Applied Intuition's Defense Autonomy team, you will be the technical bridge between hardware, edge software, and flight operations for unmanned aerial systems. The role splits roughly 50/50 between lab work and field testing, taking prototypes from benchtop configuration to live flight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end system bring‑up, moving UAVs from prototype to active flight test campaigns.
• Deploy, configure, and validate containerized software stacks using Docker, shell scripts, and Linux tools on onboard computers.
• Troubleshoot vehicle networks, payload interfaces, and sensor links in real time with command‑line utilities and hardware diagnostics.
• Develop Python and C++ scripts for data reduction, log analysis, and real‑time subsystem verification.
• Design and fabricate custom wiring, mesh network topologies, and perform hands‑on electronics work.

Required profile

• Strong background in embedded Linux environments and UAV hardware integration.
• Comfortable working both at a bench with oscilloscopes and soldering tools and in the field over mesh radio links.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable code and scripts for system glue and automation.
