About the role
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Systems & Equip Development Engineer to lead automation and technology initiatives for modernized and legacy manufacturing systems within MedTech. The role involves planning, designing, and managing projects that support new product development and manufacturing excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and grow new manufacturing technology, including procurement and qualification of capital equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
- Plan, organize, and manage automation projects, providing thought leadership and limited‑direction research.
- Train, mentor, and lead operators, technicians, and junior engineers.
- Stay ahead of emerging manufacturing technology trends and incorporate them into design requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, materials, or biosystems engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum six years of related work experience, preferably ten years in R&D design, process development, or manufacturing engineering in the medical device industry.
- Proven experience with process scale‑up, PLCs, vision systems, optics, and automation.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of leading multi‑functional teams.

- Base salary range $79,000 – $127,650 per year (visible).
