Senior Systems Engineer – Test Equipment Design

About the role

Moog is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of hydraulic, electro‑hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, servo‑mechanism, and electro‑pneumatic test equipment for space, defense, and commercial programs. The role is onsite and provides the opportunity to shape test systems that verify performance of critical aerospace hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop test equipment components and systems, including linear and rotary mechanisms.
• Lead the design process, define system architecture, and validate requirements with internal program teams.
• Develop system‑level requirements, decompose them to component level, and verify test equipment performance.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink to model, predict, and manage system margins.
• Perform hardware correlation, system integration, and verification testing.
• Coordinate assembly of test equipment and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in test equipment or systems engineering.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers.
• Self‑motivated with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Required skills

• Hydraulic, electro‑hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, servo‑mechanism, and electro‑pneumatic design.
• MATLAB and Simulink.
• DOORS (requirements management).
• Cameo (systems modeling) – a plus.
• Test equipment development, system integration, and verification testing.
