Senior Systems Engineer – Ophthalmic Diagnostic & Visualization

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to drive the development of next‑generation ophthalmic diagnostic, visualization and vision‑science products from concept through commercialization. The role bridges optical, hardware, software and clinical disciplines to deliver integrated medical‑device solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with experts in scientific, clinical, optical, software, hardware, manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Support software and hardware solutions for connected diagnostic and visualization platforms.
• Execute engineering tasks across the medical‑device lifecycle, including concept, design, verification, validation and commercialization.
• Perform system integration, troubleshooting, performance characterization and system‑level trade‑off analysis.
• Generate requirements, specifications, verification and validation protocols, technical reports and design documentation.
• Analyze engineering and clinical data to assess product performance.
• Monitor technology trends in ophthalmic diagnostics, imaging, AI/ML and connected platforms.
• Develop product and technology concepts, evaluate feasibility and support future product development.
• Work with globally distributed teams and influence cross‑functional technical decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (high school + 8 years, associate + 4 years).
• Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
• Relocation assistance and sponsorship are not available.
• Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with complex system integration in medical‑device environments.
