Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its Santa Barbara operations, supporting the design and integration of complex electro‑mechanical subsystems for modern military vehicles. The role offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge turret fire‑control systems in a collaborative, performance‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support for design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex electro‑mechanical systems.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to define component and subsystem specifications.
• Define hardware and software interfaces between subsystems.
• Develop, test, analyze, and document turret fire‑control algorithms.
• Build linear and nonlinear dynamic models and simulations to evaluate system performance.
• Offer technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
• Support lab and field testing and generate technical documentation (plans, reports).
• Travel occasionally as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in control systems, signal processing, and electro‑mechanical hardware/software.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware and software aspects of electro‑mechanical systems.
• Ability to access US export‑controlled information and obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Strong oral and written communication, attention to detail, high motivation, and a solid work ethic.
