Senior System Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our Austin team on a contract‑to‑hire basis. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise IT infrastructure while mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Support design, deployment, and upkeep of Windows servers, desktops, Active Directory, and Azure AD.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and proactively mitigate risks.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Participate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and execution.
• Automate routine tasks and optimize processes using scripting or automation tools.
• Manage monitoring, asset‑tracking, and deployment solutions.
• Apply patches, updates, and integrations to enhance security and performance.
• Document SOPs, system standards, and maintain technical documentation.
• Contribute to IT projects that improve infrastructure reliability.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in system administration.
• Strong expertise with Windows Server environments and end‑user device management.
• Proven experience with Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Group Policy.
• Solid background in Azure, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint administration.
• Experience with remote management tools (e.g., Pulseway) and asset‑tracking systems.
• Virtualization experience with VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Ability to develop SOPs and improve processes.
