Senior Superintendent – Multifamily Construction

About the role

The Senior Superintendent leads all field operations for high‑density residential and mixed‑use projects in the Arlington, VA market. Reporting to the General Superintendent or Vice President of Construction, the role works closely with the Project Manager and the broader team to ensure safe, on‑time delivery that meets the company’s quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Assistant Superintendents, punch carpenters, and laborers.
• Manage subcontractor and vendor field activities.
• Coordinate jurisdictional inspections, testing programs, and third‑party inspections.
• Oversee jobsite safety programs and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to safety, schedule, logistics, subcontractors, and constructability.
• Review subcontractor work for quality and contract compliance.
• Create, maintain, and distribute project schedules, ensuring milestone adherence.
• Conduct weekly safety and subcontractor meetings.
• Manage punch lists and ensure completion before final inspections.
• Review subcontractor pay applications and provide recommendations to the Project Manager.
• Support pre‑construction by reviewing schematic and design development plans for constructability, staging, logistics, and scheduling.
• Maintain organized project documentation in accordance with company standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, OR 10+ years as a Senior Superintendent.
• Minimum 10 years of multifamily construction experience, including high‑density residential and mixed‑use projects.
• Proven track record delivering ground‑up multifamily projects valued at $30M+.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and trade sequencing.
