Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

About the role

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager leads the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for Moog’s Commercial Aircraft Group and Integrated Supply Chain organization. This role is responsible for a $200M+ spend portfolio of machined components and complex assemblies, driving cost reduction, supplier partnership, and supply‑chain resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute tactical and long‑term sourcing plans across assigned commodity groups, influencing Make‑vs‑Buy decisions.
• Negotiate and manage long‑term agreements (LTAs) to increase secured spend and regionalize supply chains.
• Identify, qualify, and develop high‑performing suppliers to optimize quality, lead time, VMI, and total landed cost.
• Lead cross‑functional supplier selection, risk mitigation, and multi‑source strategies.
• Partner with Contracts and Legal to define, negotiate, and administer supplier contracts.
• Serve as senior escalation point for supplier performance issues and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
• 7+ years of global supply‑chain, strategic sourcing and leadership experience.
• Proven track record negotiating complex supplier contracts and long‑term agreements.
• Strong ability to influence and collaborate across a global, cross‑functional organization.
• Willingness to travel globally up to 30%.

Required skills

• Expertise in supply‑chain network design and supplier development.
• Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing, risk management and cost‑reduction methodologies.
• Familiarity with international trade, import/export compliance and global regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
