Senior Staff Lab Manager – Engineering Labs Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Lab Manager to lead the design, development, operation, and long‑term strategy of our engineering laboratories. This senior technical leadership role creates world‑class lab environments that enable hardware and software teams to rapidly develop, integrate, test, and validate complex systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define vision, architecture, and roadmap for laboratory infrastructure; design and commission new lab spaces.
• Establish standards for layout, power, networking, cooling, safety, security and scalability.
• Manage day‑to‑day lab operations, scheduling, preventative maintenance, calibration and equipment lifecycle.
• Develop metrics, KPIs and reporting to track lab performance and uptime.
• Support HIL/SIL integration, networking, compute, storage and data acquisition environments.
• Lead, recruit and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, manufacturing, IT, facilities and security teams and manage vendor relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Systems Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years experience supporting complex engineering laboratories or technical infrastructure.
• 5+ years of technical leadership or people‑management experience.
• Proven track record designing and building labs from concept through deployment.
• U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred).

Required skills

• Power distribution and environmental control systems.
• Network architecture (Ethernet, VLANs, managed switches, routing).
• Server, storage and instrumentation integration.
• Hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and Software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) test setups.
• Asset management, calibration and lifecycle maintenance.
• Programming/scripting: Python, MATLAB, C/C++.
