Senior Staff Engineer – Operations Analysis

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Lead Operational Analyst to contribute to the modeling, simulation, and analysis of Shield AI’s aircraft systems. In this role you will evaluate effectiveness, survivability, and operational impact across component, system, mission, and campaign levels while collaborating with engineering, product, and defense stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, own and execute operational analyses and wargaming studies to assess autonomous system performance in representative military scenarios.
• Build, modify, and run mission‑level models using tools such as AFSIM, STK, MATLAB, and Python.
• Perform trade studies, sensitivity analyses, and force‑on‑force engagements to inform design trade‑offs and mission outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate findings into actionable system insights and CONOPS refinements.
• Prepare technical documentation, analysis reports, and briefings for internal teams, customers, and government stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in operational analysis, modeling & simulation, or related defense/aerospace roles.
• Active Secret clearance (Top‑Secret preferred) and ability to obtain S//SAR level clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AFSIM, STK, MATLAB, and Python.
• Experience using version control, scripting, and scalable compute workflows for reproducible analysis.
