Senior / Staff Electrical Engineer

About the role

Waabi is a leader in Physical AI, building autonomous trucks and robotaxis. The Senior/Staff Electrical Engineer will convert custom electronics designs into road‑ready hardware, partnering with contract manufacturers and in‑house technicians to build, validate and assemble boards for autonomous vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with contract manufacturers to fabricate PCBs and assemblies, track schedules and resolve bottlenecks.
• Inspect incoming boards, perform rework, hand‑assembly and functional testing, ensuring compliance with OEM and internal quality standards.
• Maintain inventory of components, boards and assemblies, monitoring stock levels and reordering as needed.
• Support end‑of‑line vehicle testing by diagnosing and fixing board‑level and vehicle‑level issues.
• Design and implement test fixtures for module verification and validation under nominal and stressful conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of hardware development or test engineering experience, including 2–3 years in a formal leadership role.
• Proven ability to work effectively with contract manufacturers and drive high‑quality hardware delivery.
• Hands‑on “maker” mindset combined with strategic vision for roadmap planning.

Required skills

• PCB manufacturing coordination.
• Test fixture design and implementation.
• Hardware debugging using soldering iron, oscilloscope and related tools.
• Inventory tracking and management for electronic components.
