Senior Sponsored Programs Specialist

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC is seeking a full‑time Senior Sponsored Programs Specialist to manage the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored research projects on the UHealth campus. The role provides expert guidance to faculty and administrators throughout the grant lifecycle, ensuring compliance with university policies and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to faculty in developing and preparing funding proposals.
• Review grant applications for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain internal proposal documents and electronic records for the assigned portfolio.
• Process post‑award actions such as award notifications, amendments, and close‑out activities.
• Coordinate budget revisions, monitor subcontracting activity, and oversee audits and petty‑cash reconciliations.
• Submit invoices to accounts payable and track timely payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum three years of experience in grant administration or related financial functions.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork orientation, and clear written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard office software.
