Senior Solutions Architect – Cloud & AI Optimization

About the role

Virtasant is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead cloud and AI optimization initiatives for global enterprise customers. The role focuses on FinOps, cost governance, and translating architectural decisions into measurable financial outcomes while working remotely with a PST overlap.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cloud cost‑optimization programs across large, multi‑cloud environments, identifying waste and recommending rightsizing, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances.
• Design and implement governance frameworks that sustain long‑term cloud efficiency and financial visibility.
• Analyze usage patterns and spending trends, building analytics and reporting solutions that drive data‑informed decisions.
• Partner with engineering and data teams to execute optimization recommendations and improve architecture.
• Conduct discovery sessions, present findings to technical and business stakeholders, and build trusted advisor relationships.
• Mentor team members, establish best practices, and influence architecture decisions that balance technical and financial goals.

Required profile

• Proven FinOps experience with a track record of delivering measurable cost reductions.
• Deep expertise in cloud cost optimization and governance.
• Strong communication skills for senior‑level client and stakeholder engagement.
• Customer‑facing consulting background.

Required skills

• FinOps and cloud cost‑optimization methodologies.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture and services.
• SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Python for automation and scripting.
• Amazon Athena and data‑modeling techniques.
• Understanding of medallion architecture and large‑scale data analytics.
