Senior Software Systems Engineer

About the role

Seasats is looking for a Senior Software Systems Engineer to own the end‑to‑end delivery foundation for its maritime robotics fleet. You will be responsible for release engineering, software and vehicle packaging, and the tooling that enables every engineering team to ship confidently.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end delivery process for software and vehicle updates, including versioning, build artifacts, packaging, and staged rollouts.
• Define and maintain delivery pipelines with build automation, artifact packaging, versioning schemes, and pre‑launch qualification.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform or similar) to keep build and deployment environments consistent.
• Build tooling to monitor rollout health, support rollback and recovery, and harden processes for security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Act as integration point between vehicle software, cloud services, and third‑party systems, ensuring end‑to‑end compatibility before shipping.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, release engineering, or platform roles, with a track record of owning delivery and packaging at scale.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Deep understanding of Linux systems, packaging formats, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and tooling.
• Excellent technical communication skills and ability to balance speed, reliability, and cost.
