Senior Software Security Engineer

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Senior Software Security Engineer to join its Security Engineering team. You will help protect AI systems by building identity, secrets, and cloud security controls, and by shaping secure development practices across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate identity and secrets management systems, including credential issuance, rotation, and workload authentication across multi‑cloud environments.
• Develop and enforce cluster security controls such as RBAC policies, namespace isolation, workload identity, and pod security.
• Implement cloud security controls including IAM, network segmentation, VPC architecture, and encryption for both cloud and on‑premise workloads.
• Create secure development frameworks and libraries that simplify secure coding, service‑to‑service authentication, and tool proxying.
• Harden CI/CD pipelines against supply‑chain attacks using isolated build environments, signed attestations, dependency verification, and automated policy enforcement.
• Identify and remediate security gaps through code reviews, threat modeling, and hands‑on debugging.
• Support continuous cloud security posture management with infrastructure‑as‑code scanning, misconfiguration detection, and automated remediation.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience building security‑relevant systems in production.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset across engineering teams.
• Low ego, high empathy, and a passion for AI safety.
