Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Collective is looking for a senior software engineer to own and evolve the core product experiences that power its member platform. The role blends full‑stack development with product thinking, and expects the use of modern AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve quality.

Key responsibilities

• Define problems, design solutions, ship features end‑to‑end and iterate based on user feedback.
• Develop high‑quality, user‑facing experiences across both frontend (React) and backend (Python/Django) systems.
• Partner with product and design teams to translate ambiguous requirements into simple, effective implementations.
• Leverage AI‑powered code generation, copilots and agent‑based workflows to reduce manual effort.
• Make system‑design decisions that balance speed, scalability and maintainability.
• Continuously ship, instrument, and use telemetry to guide the next iteration.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production software experience in a product‑focused environment.
• Strong full‑stack engineering background with Python, Django and React or comparable frameworks.
• Proven track record of owning features or systems from concept to measurable user impact.
• Experience using AI developer tools to increase development velocity.
• Ability to turn loosely defined member problems into shipped solutions without a fully spec’d PRD.
