Senior Software Engineer I – Ruby on Rails with Sidekiq

About the role

Join the Platform squad of Wellsheet, a clinical decision‑support platform used by over 20,000 providers across 100+ hospitals. As a Senior Software Engineer you will help build the next‑generation platform API and internal tooling that powers real‑time EHR synchronization, FHIR ingestion, and vocabulary normalization.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end platform subsystems such as ingestion pipelines, sync reliability, and data normalization.
• Maintain stack health through framework upgrades, dependency management, and CI tooling.
• Diagnose and resolve loosely specified integration issues, e.g., vendor‑specific FHIR quirks.
• Ensure correctness and observability as new consumers adopt the platform.
• Partner with the engineer who built the sync system, taking ownership of a production pipeline and its on‑call responsibilities.

Required profile

• Strong engineering judgment with a senior‑level mindset.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems and deliver durable solutions.
• Comfort collaborating directly with the team that built the existing system.
