Senior Software Engineer, Events Analytics Platform

About the role

The Events Analytics Platform (EAP) team builds the infrastructure that powers Sentry's time‑series data and search capabilities across billions of events. As a Senior Software Engineer you will lead efforts to expand data visibility, improve performance, and shape the technical direction of Sentry's core data services.

Key responsibilities

• Expand EAP’s ability to deliver data at world‑class speed and reliability.
• Architect and automate services that scale reliably under growing demand.
• Make architectural trade‑offs balancing product requirements with engineering constraints.
• Maintain and grow code‑quality initiatives through reviews and design contributions.
• Lead design discussions and improve maintainability of the team’s codebases.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of replicated or distributed data storage systems.
• Proficiency in Python or a comparable language.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Memcached, Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts.
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate.
