Senior Software Engineer – Defense Simulation

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer you will lead the design, development, and improvement of integrated live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) simulation solutions that support experimentation, testing, and training of multi‑agent autonomy software. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, translate requirements into technical solutions, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring high‑quality code and compliance with CI/CD and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document LVC architectures and create realistic simulation scenarios.
• Write interface code, adapters, and translators in C++ and Python.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot integration roadblocks, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Research and evaluate new modeling, simulation, and communication tools.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors to integrate proprietary models while respecting IP boundaries.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best coding practices and design patterns.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 or later) and Python (3.10+).
• Experience designing scalable, high‑performance systems, preferably in simulation or real‑time domains.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
• Prior experience in defense, autonomy, or related high‑tech sectors is a plus.
