Senior Software Engineer - AI Platform

About the role

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of their AI Platform. You will shape the architecture of a Generative AI (GenAI) platform, integrating large language models (LLMs) into internal and customer‑facing applications at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop highly scalable intelligent agents that leverage LLMs to automate workflows and improve user experiences.
• Define the long‑term LLM integration strategy and ensure robust, maintainable communication across the software ecosystem.
• Collaborate with product managers to prioritize cognitive‑automation opportunities such as information extraction, summarization, and question answering.
• Own the full development lifecycle for mission‑critical machine‑learning‑powered tools, from concept through production deployment.
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices for distributed, production‑grade machine learning solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior software engineer building large‑scale, distributed systems.
• Strong background in AI/ML platforms and hands‑on experience integrating LLMs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architectural direction.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for building reliable, maintainable software.
