Senior Service Management Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Senior Service Management Engineer to join its Business Operations Organization. The role focuses on production‑readiness and reliability of Mastercard’s digital payment platforms, ensuring they remain stable, secure and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Lead certificate lifecycle management across all programs, detecting upcoming renewals and coordinating timely renewal actions.
• Provide certificate renewal consulting and best‑practice guidance to teams before services go live.
• Partner with program teams to assess and improve automation of certificate renewals against Mastercard standards.
• Apply IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, including operational design, automation, capacity planning and monitoring.
• Drive daily operations with a focus on triage, root‑cause analysis, blameless post‑mortems and risk mitigation.
• Support compliance and risk management across all environments, aligning product priorities with operational needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Reliability Engineer or in Certificate Lifecycle Management.
• Strong background in production‑readiness, operational design and agile delivery.
• Ability to work collaboratively with developers and program teams to embed resilience into products.
• Experience conducting root‑cause analysis and leading post‑mortem reviews.
