Senior SEO Strategist – Site Structure & Category Content

About the role

The Senior SEO Strategist, Site Structure & Category Content will shape how customers discover and navigate Macy’s digital ecosystem. You will focus on taxonomy optimization, category‑level content strategy, metadata governance, and internal linking to boost organic visibility and support seamless journeys across Macys.com.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and refine the category taxonomy to align SEO goals with user experience.
• Partner with merchandising, UX, product and engineering to define naming conventions, hierarchy improvements, and metadata for L1–L6 pages.
• Develop internal linking strategies that enhance crawlability, category authority, and customer pathways.
• Identify content gaps within taxonomy and embed helpful content on category, sub‑category and brand pages.
• Maintain content frameworks that reflect Macy’s brand voice and SEO standards.
• Build dashboards to track category performance from SERP to sale, forecast outcomes, and measure the impact of structural changes.
• Conduct keyword research, query‑level analysis, and competitive assessments to inform optimization initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structural SEO, taxonomy management, and category‑level content strategy.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data and search behavior into scalable improvements.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with merchandising, UX, product, and engineering teams.
• Detail‑oriented mindset focused on consistency, scalability, and SEO best practices.
