Senior SEM Metrology Application Engineer (Level II)

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. The Senior SEM Metrology Application Engineer will develop and implement metrology solutions, work closely with customers, and drive innovative applications for next‑generation chips.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement metrology solutions that address critical technology gaps.
• Interface with customers to gather technical requirements, perform analyses, and manage schedules.
• Create and lead new methodologies to optimize system performance for specific applications.
• Perform CnFs and qualify new metrology approaches, transferring capabilities to customer sites.
• Document best‑known methods, lead technical review meetings, and deliver training to employees and customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating SEM metrology systems in the semiconductor industry.
• Proven ability to lead projects from kickoff through completion with clear planning and reporting.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work both independently and in teams.
• Effective communication skills to explain complex information and build consensus.

Required skills

• Expertise in eBeam/SEM metrology and inspection.
• Strong data‑analytics capability.
• Programming experience (a plus).
