Senior Security Architecture Project Manager (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced security leader to join our Massachusetts team on a long‑term contract. The role blends hands‑on security architecture work with strategic guidance, helping to shape an independent and effective security architecture function.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the current security architecture landscape and recommend improvements to controls, governance, and design standards.
• Provide senior‑level security architecture expertise while supporting day‑to‑day security analysis during the contract period.
• Define a framework for an autonomous security architecture team, outlining responsibilities, processes, and strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to align security initiatives with operational goals.
• Lead security‑related projects using Agile and Scrum methodologies, tracking work in Jira.
• Advise leadership on strategy, roadmap planning, and investment priorities.
• Document findings, proposed enhancements, and implementation considerations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in security architecture, IT project management, or a closely related field.
• Proven ability to operate both technically and strategically in security‑focused environments.
• Experience delivering security initiatives within Agile/Scrum delivery models.
• Strong project management skills with stakeholder coordination capabilities.
• PMP certification preferred or equivalent formal project leadership experience.
