Senior Safety Engineer

About the role

Reframe Systems seeks a Senior Safety Engineer to lead environmental, health, and safety for its micro‑factory that builds modular home units and for field installation teams. This hands‑on, on‑site position will shape a young EHS program into a robust, scalable system that supports rapid production growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce clear safety standards, hazard assessments, work instructions, visual controls and training that are practical for shop floor and field crews.
• Own the EHS program including record‑keeping, inspections, regulatory filings and emergency preparedness.
• Manage environmental compliance – chemical inventory, SDS, waste streams, hazardous material storage and permits.
• Lead high‑risk work safety such as heights, overhead lifting, lockout/tagout, machine guarding and robotic cell safety.
• Extend safety processes to field sites, coordinating with contractors and shared‑site employers.

Required profile

• 4+ years of EHS responsibility for a site or of managing regulated compliance programs in high‑risk industries (e.g., nuclear, aviation, pharma).
• Experience building or scaling a safety program in a new or rapidly growing operation.
• Proven ability to translate OSHA and other regulations into actionable daily practices.
• Comfortable working on the factory floor and engaging directly with production teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction standards.
• Hazard assessment and PPE program development.
• Hazardous materials handling, chemical safety and waste compliance.
• Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, and robotic safety expertise.
• Use of digital EHS tools for inspections, corrective actions and metrics.
