Senior Robotics Hardware Engineer – Drone Stack

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking a Senior Robotics Hardware Engineer to lead the hardware‑software bring‑up of flight‑ready drone systems. You will act as the primary technical bridge between hardware design, guidance‑navigation‑control (GNC), and software teams, ensuring seamless integration from bench testing to airfield deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end hardware‑software bring‑up process for autonomous flight systems.
• Define and manage system interfaces across flight controllers, payloads, and ground stations.
• Architect repeatable verification workflows and high‑fidelity simulation environments, including Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) and Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SIL) testing.
• Develop custom real‑time monitoring tools and set standards for hardware abstraction.
• Make system‑level trade‑offs between embedded software performance, autonomy requirements, and hardware constraints.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior‑level robotics or aerospace hardware engineering.
• Strong background in integrating autopilot firmware, onboard compute platforms, and peripheral vehicle hardware.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with GNC, software, and test teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering flight‑ready systems.
