Senior RF Systems Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that enable every new semiconductor chip and advanced display. The Senior RF Systems Engineer will lead the development, integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of advanced RF power delivery systems used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This position combines hands‑on engineering, technical leadership, supplier engagement, and customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, integration, and qualification of RF subsystems such as generators, matching networks, filters, diagnostics, ICP source designs and power distribution systems.
• Develop and maintain schematics, specifications and engineering documentation; define system requirements for new products.
• Partner with technology and process engineers to analyze and optimize plasma‑RF interactions, ignition characteristics, coupling efficiency and process uniformity.
• Integrate RF systems into equipment, lead supplier selection, diagnose complex RF/electrical/plasma issues and work with software teams for hardware‑software integration.
• Evaluate emerging RF technologies, drive innovation, conduct proof‑of‑concept testing and present findings to leadership and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field with 10+ years experience, or Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD with 6+ years in semiconductor or capital equipment development.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
